Healthcare Consultants - Pharmacy Staffing (HCC) is seeking a valued, hospital pharmacy professional for the full time postion of Clinical Charge Pharmacist for the overnight shift, 3rd shift. Following physicians orders, the Clinical Charge Pharmacist compounds and dispenses medications and other phrmaceuticals. Postion tasks and respsonsibilities include: Maintains strong knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and dispenses accordingly. Consults with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors and complaints. Determines and consults on possible drug interactions. Assists in the supervision and training of pharmacy technician personnel. Participates in Drug Utilization Review. Assists with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals. Monitors, records and communicates as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities. Orients and mentors new staff members. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipement as required. Must be a graduate of a college of pharmacy, accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) leading to a Bachelor of Science or Doctorate degress in Pharmacy. Current Nevada licensure to practice pharmacy or eligibility required. Minimum of two years experence (recent) as a registered pharmacist in an acute care hospital setting. Prior experience supervising or coordinating technical staff preferred. Prior experience with computerized unit dose and IV admixture services, as well as, automated systems preferred.
